Dear Palmer,
My name is Evan Winter. I grew up in California, was homeschooled, and have worked between Palos Verdes, San Diego, and Las Vegas. My path hasn’t been conventional, and I think that gives me a perspective most people don’t have. Any background check will confirm what I’m saying.
You named your company after a sword that was broken and then reforged. You left Facebook in 2017 and founded Anduril that same year. Your career is the story the name tells. Most people treat it as a Tolkien reference. It’s also a biography.
I’ll be in Southern California early next year and would like to meet over food and beer—Huntington Beach or Avalon, whichever is easier for you. I’m interested in your view on how a person can speak with anyone, anywhere, about anything, while keeping an open mind. I also have a working grasp of technology, so I can keep up on that side.
If this interests you, write to me at the address below, or send a helicopter or rocket to these GPS coordinates: 14.738696, -91.158421. I’m happy to work around your schedule.
Respectfully,
Evan Winter
